Hi read part of your post, need a optical switch? Ever try looking at opticouplers. Basically a led that turns on when light is induced into the diode! Remember forward bias to turn on and reverse to turn off. Forward bias=light on--closed switch. Reverse bias light off--open Switch. this may or may not help you. Just what I was thinkin at the moment! Azuceit
