Hi All-

I love my Harmony 768 and am using it in a pretty complex system. It is actually replacing a Crestron system, which while much more powerful, was very difficult to program. I love the Harmony programming. Anyway, my old Crestron touchpanel was RF, so my wife is not used to holding the remote pointed at my equipment while a macro runs. I am looking for a way around this. I have Xantech IR distribution box with IR probes to each of my devices (the IR receiver is an old RCA cone I have) and it seems to work okay, but is still directional. I would love it if this remote or the new one had an RF option. I also found this Remote Range Extender (see bottom of page) [Link: nghp.net]
...it will not work now, but a AAA version is coming soonso that may be an option. Otherwise I would like to find an omni-directional strong IR receiver to pick up anywhere she points in the room. Any ideas?

So is the Crestron system collecting dust somewhere? Sounds like a pretty dramatic step down... Have you looked into haveing the crestron professionally programmed?

I know of no RF interface that is anywhere near as relable as the Crestron (Other than AMX which is inthe same price range)

I believe Terk still sells their "Leapfrog" which is a small IR-RF interface that can attach tot he front of your remote instead of replacing a battery....

The Terk system tends to get confused by commands, and is really slow to send commands.

How about an MX800... easy programming, sends both IR and RF signals, easily programmed...

Did i mention ease of use?

We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.
