I just moved into a new home, spent 3 days carving out a hole for my tv, all my components are under it behind a wall. I need a good, high quality signal repeater so I can send signals to all my components which are all facing one way behind the wall and can be easily accessed from another room.

Thanks!!!

Xantech makes nice IR repeating devices. I use it all the time.

Why get it? It is more expensive than a Xantech system, less reliable, and he whould have to edit his CCF to have it send RF. If he goes with Xantech, all he has to do it wire it up.

Agreed

less reliable,

Agreed, I have pulled out RF kits and replaced them with IR

and he whould have to edit his CCF to have it send RF.

Yes, he would need a whole 3 minutes for this.

If he goes with Xantech, all he has to do it wire it up.

OK, I guess if I were only going to buy one of the two, it would be the Xantach.
But, the Pronto RF is nice when it works.

Side Note:.......

What is the reliable range for an RF base-station in a real workd setting....I am assuming that it's not the 100 ft. that the brochures talk about.... is it?

The "real world" completely depends on where you are and what hardware you're using. Some people have no problem using RF from up to the spec'd indoor distance. But for others RF is worse than IR. I'd say that in normal circumstances you should get at least one or two rooms surrounding the receiver, possibly more.

Anthony-
I've been busy as can be trying to launch my business. I've finally taken the jump from doing it part time to making it a full time thing!

If you're using a pronto pro why just use the RF to IR interface? About $75 and you're good to go.
