Integra claims that its receivers upconvert s and composite video to component. Is this true. It sounds like it would make operation of the system easier from programming of the remote to end user. Also is the chad remote a pronto, if so which version. I like the rc series of marantz but switching companies and will try to get them to switch from denon to integra.

I know Denon 3803 will upconvert all the way to Component video, I think the 2 top line iNtegras do as well, but dont thing the basic one does.

The CHAD is based on the TSU-2000 so I dont expect it to be around very much longer.

Hey, Charlie,
Where is the emerald coast?

I am not familiar with Integra, but let me spend a few minutes looking for the answer to your question. IT is now 11:10 local time.

Okay. It is now 11:18 local time, and I have been lookikng at the manual for the DTR 9.1. I found the company's web site by searching google for integra audio video.

The 9.1 appears from the web site to be the top of the line receiver, so I figured it would have the feature you mention. It does not. It has three component inputs and one component output, as well as a full array of video and s video inputs and outputs.

The description of features has ZERO mention of any video features other than component switching (remember, this is the manual, not an ad). The description of back panel functions does not mention conversion from video or s video to component. It specifically states that video inputs can only be viewed from the video output, and s video inputs can only be viewed from the s video output.

I did get one amusing new word from this manual:
configuaragble.

OK, so where did you hear about Integra products? You did not mention any model numbers, so if the web site is out of date, as for instance Yamaha's and Sony's often are, I cannot answer your question.

Please supply more information. Also note how easy it was for me to find specific information on the internet. I recommend google all the time because it is soooooooooo good.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Ernie, the 9.1, even though it is their "Top of the Line" receiver is actually almost 3 years old, Touted as being upgradeable, its proven the fact that no receiver is truely upgradeable to eveything that comes out.

Looks like the 6.4 will also... Not the 5.4 though.

I know that the Denon as replied my Impaqt as well as Onkyo both upconvert. However I just installed a Denon AVR3803 in a small theater and although everything works great it skews the VCR video through the projector. May be an isolated instance...would be my luck! NO problem I can easily get around that problem!
