Having difficulty with getting a CD player source to play through the zone 2 on a HK AVR325. The HT side is set to 5.1. What am I missing? I set Multi-room to ON.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ed

Ed, what type of audio interconnects do you have going from the cd player to the receiver? optical/coaxial dig. only? i know that on integra's and a few other brand receiver's, you must also run an analog audio (left/right) from any source component that you intend to use for multi-room audio. aside from that, just make sure that you turn 'multi - on', and select 'multi - cd'. hope this helps, BP

ALL second zones I have ever seen require garden variety analog RCA connections for the second zone.
If the digital circuitry is busy letting you listen to a 5.1 soundtrack, how can it simultaneously be used to let you play a CD in the other room?
Not only that, I ran across a Toshiba surround demo DVD where one track put out NO audio except on the RCAs. I still haven't figured out how they did that, or why, but I always connect analog RCAs from every digital output device I have. That way if some idiot sets the input to "ANALOG," I might some day have a complaint that the audio doesn't sound as good as it used to, but I won't have a complaint that the receiver is dead!
