I installed a system and when the CD is played the sound comes out in waves - it goes up and down? what's the cause of that? Thanks for any help...

What exactly do you mean by waves? Can you be more descriptive?

what are the componens in the system? Do others do this, or just the CD? All cd's, or just one?
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

I am using a Harman Kardon AVR8000 with the DVD50... The connection is an optical cable... By waves - I mean the sound goes up and down when played.. and I don't live near an ocean!

If you got pitch, that crap is pretty hard to clean off.

Is this on a boat? On a train? In a plane?

but will you eat green peas and spam?

Here's my criterion for the amount of detail that you need to include in a question. If it can sound AT ALL like "I want to buy a car. How much should I pay?" then you have NOT included enough detail.

See what happens on this site when you do not ask a question with enough details for us to help? We won't abandon you. We will, however, start playing with you.

Please answer all of the above questions in detail. Maybe someone out here will recognize the picture you paint if you would just bother to paint it.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
