Question. We did an installation in a bar that is divided in two. I used the amp in Denon's DRA-395 stereo rec. to run one side of the bar. And a Speaker Craft Big Bang amp running line level out of the denon for the other. NOW here is the question. My customer want some type of microphone system like they used to use with there juke box were when you key the mic up it mutes the music. How do I do this?

you would need somesort of switch? i m sure that there is a switch out there that is audio sensing and will give priority to the mic-what happened to the old system?

Dump the dennon and get the bar a Bogen Pm3180.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

One alternative to explore is Shure's SCM262 mixer. This stereo mixer has three line level inputs and two mic inputs. Depending on how you choose to configure the system, you could insert this into the monitor loop, activate the loop, and be in decent shape. You'd want to activate ducking on the mic, and clearly, have a switched mic. Reasonably priced, too!

I agree with the Dump the Denon campaign. When in a commercial situation - use commercial gear.

The DENON is OK stuff. There are a lot of designers that refuse to spec DENON due to reliability problems. That is neither here nor there. My point was simply that Bogen or Shure products are designed for the problems that arise in a commercial setting such as needing a mic inputs, 70volt outputs and things that suit a commercial setting. It had nothing to do with Denon specificaly
