NHT in-walls fit in here nicely... (pun intended)

They have a new mounting system for their in-walls- the 'legs' that hold the frame to the wall are now spring loaded. This keeps the legs from breaking sheetrock if tightened too much (btdt)
We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

My vote is for the Speakercraft. My company has sold different brands in the past and always have have stayed with Speakercraft. We feel they offer the best quality and support for the $$$.

Ernie,

I agree with you in alll the things you've said
about the retangular speakers for the ceiling.
I think that's why Sonance makes the oval shaped
ones. Best of both worlds. I think the Sonance
are about the same price as the Niles speakers
though. do you stock any other in-wall-ceiling
speakers that you can recommend.

Sonance makes the Oval speakers which are called Ellipse for front LCR channles of an in-ceiling surround system. And while it is true that do to the tweeter placement in a round speaker it is harder to get the Frequency responce to be as smooth as the rectangle, the round offer much better range of off axis listening positions. The rectangle are limited to on and horizontal off axis for good sound where as the round are the same from evey off axis degree.

Actually Sonance has a full line of in-cieling speakers and a full line of outdoor box type speakers. They also have a cabinet LCR called Symphony LCR which is voiced after the Symphony 623 in-wall, in-ceiling models. Check them out at sonance.com

Belive it or not the NEW line of ELAN inwalls and inceilings sound amazing without breaking the bank. After all, why spend so much money for "back ground music with occasionally loud use. The ELAN MM and MP lines of speakers would make you very happy. Just an opinion.

I started selling Niles many years ago and switched to SpeakerCraft. Now I'm back to Niles. If you like the Niles sound you probable won’t like SpeakerCraft. They sound much higher than Niles and in my opinion don't reproduce as authentically. If you really like Niles go listen to the AT series.

Don't forget ---
Especially with In wall or in ceiling speakers.
-- It's all in the quality of the install.
You dont want one speaker installed in a totally free air location , while the other one is jammed in a small insulated cavity. That will highly effect the speakers characteristics. I'd rather have a $200 pair os speakers installed well , thatn a $1000 pair poorly installed.
