Ok I have a client asking for some thing a bit special. He wants Whole House Audio with 3 zones. Nothing too hard so far. However in the dining room he wants a sub woofer for more bottom end sound. How do I get his sub sound to this location?

Speakercraft and Sonance both make In-Ceiling Passive subs that can add a lot of bottom end quite easily. NHT, and parasound both make In-wall subs with active sub-amps that can be rack mounted.

I assume you are taking about just extending the frequency response of the speakers that you will use in the dining room, and not about a dedicated LFE channel? (you mentioned 2.1 in your subject title).

If so then one on the subs mentioned above should be fine, so long as they have high level (speaker level) inputs/outputs. Use the speaker level to connect the sub to whatever speaker distributor you are using, then go from the sub to the speakers. Getting a sub with variable cross-over adjustment would also allow you to better mate its performance with the room speakers you choose.

If you did mean dedicated 2.1 (left, right, +LFE) then please elaborate on it. I haven't yet heard of it here (but then it can take a while for some technologies to filter their way down under)

How much money can you spend? REL dual-mode sub-bass system is the answer. As far as I am concerned, this should be the only subwoofers ever sold.

This isn't all that hard, like others have said, use a subwoofer in the room with speaker level inputs and crossed over outputs to the 'main' L and R speakers. Voila...

Go with a BIG in ceiling ( like Jamo 10" ) as the low end on them will provide some serious low frequency excursions or just loop through an active sub in that room ( speaker level) ...can put a plate down at ac receptacle height, back out and up to a volume control to in wall ( or ceiling) spks

I am only really talking about seperating the 200-80Hz to the sub and then the rest to the speakers.

I am using TRIAD Bronze 4 with 2 Mini 4 Sats

Thanks for your help!
