Speaking of the M55ES, does anybody know if it has discrete power ON & OFF, GROUPS, and a decent on-screen display?

We used to spec the CDP-CX450, but we hate the CDP-CX455. Check this thread for background:

Wondering if this ES changer will work for us?

Turn OFF the two way comunicated from the menu That will fix the problem. Also try using a standard sony CD player remote. IE non LCD. I have learned from a Standard remote into universals or keypads with ZERO problems.

Ok, now that the CDP-450 is dead & gone, I've got one last system that I've committed to a changer with a composite video display output.

We're not an ES dealer anymore - can anyone here please supply a CDP-M555ES?. I don't care if you sell it to me or directly to my customer, but I do need to get one these asap.

Thanks in advance!

I do not hope to insult anyone so I will admit I pulled my hair out for a time on this myself one day. The IR rcvr on that CD changer is not where the little 'R' thingie sony puts on their equipment is. It's in the upper left of the window. Get out the old flashlight and see if you can see it.
