i am looking for a RF receiver so that i can keep my cabinet doors closed. i have all sony components (most important is the str-de985 receiver) that i need a universal remote to link to. thanks for the help.

What we usually do instead of going to RF is use something like a xantech or Russound IR repeater
they both make them with enough inputs for the components you have. As far as the receiver for the unit they make them that go in wall plates or units that you can drill a small hole in the cabinet so you can keep the doors closed. Very easy to install the whole thing.

I agree with SkyBird, but otherwise, I've had the most luck with the X10 Powermid system for IR-RF pyramid things.
