Has anybody used the Xantech IR to RS232 converter? I have a customer with a plasma that only has direct inputs via RS232. IR wise it is only a toggle. I am trying to simplify his system to run off a MX-700, and this is my only hold up.
Thanks in advance.

Remember you need to use an rc68 remote to source code the commands, as well as an mx700 remote.

I've had decent reports from the field on this application. Remember, there are two versions of the irs232; one with a fixed baud rate, and one with variable. Determine which one you need and your oh so helpful Xantech supplier will get one out to you.

I just used one with a Fireball and it worked great. You'll also need the Dragon Drop software to program it.

You might want to give Celadon a call. They make an IR to RS232 converter that they will program for you that comes ready to go with IR codes in a ccf file. Less expensive considering you do not need to purchase Drag n Drop or do any trouble shooting or programming

We use xantech all the time, but on this front you want to call celadon. We use them for plasma control all the time. Not to mention other things. They will send an rs232 to ir control module along with a cd rom with all the ir codes on it. You won't be sorry. If you need more info, email me if you need more info. hdtv9@aol.com.
