I'm looking to put insulation behind all my in-wall speakers and I wanted to use something flame retardant. Does anyone know of a good insulation to use?

It's a fine idea to install flame-retardant materials in your wall, and that's why building codes demand just that. I'm assuming this is an interior wall and the wall cavity is empty. I would suggest using rock wool insulation purchased from Home Depot/Lowes/Menards; get the pink or yellow stuff without the paper backing and pack it in the wall opening.

just make shure you don't use stuff that contains a lot of dust or loose particules as it could enter inside voice coil( speakers with vented pole piece)

If you want to go beyond insulation and get into sound control and acoustic treatment, give these guys a shot: [Link: cascadeaudio.com]
