I have a Marantz DV9600 DVD player. I have tried the discrete On/Off codes given in the factory database (several of the models). I tried the discretes listed in the file area for Pront NG and none of them work. I can only get a toggle action. Can anyone help?

BTW, is this is not the appropriate place for "I need discretes for ....", please advise.
Thanks,
Marc

If you have exhausted these various discrete commands, you can do the following work around:

Most DVD players power on, in response to the Play or Eject button. Check your's with the original remote and see if it does.

If so, now you know the "state" is on and can turn it off with the power button.

So, the code would look like this roughly:

Send Play IR to DVD
delay .30 seconds
Send Power IR to DVD

You can then use this wherever you need to.

Using the RC5/6 code entry format in the TSU9600 editor, enter the following codes:

Power ON is 04 12 01
Power OFF is 04 12 02

This should get your problem solved.

Springs and Remotecontroller, thanks for the reply. However, I can't get either to work. I am suppose to just type and past your code into the field, correct, Springs?

Remotecontroller, when I enter the strings you list, it doesn't accept them. I'm just entering them in the standard code window. Are your codes something different; how do I "use the "RC5/6 code entry format"?

Sorry, I'm sure I don't understand some basic process. Thanks for your help.

to use the RC 5/ 6 code entry option, go to add ir code for a button, select "custom ir code" (just like you were going to learn or paste a code). Just above the learn IR box you will see a box labeled "RC 5/6/MM". select this box. On the define rc 5/6/mm page select the RC5/6 Mode tab. for the code values I gave you, select the RC5x format. This will open up 3 entry boxes , one for system, one for command, and one for data. Enter the first 2 digits of my code in the system field, the second set in the command filed and the last 2 in the data field. Hit OK and you will be returned to the Add IR code page and you will have a hex string in the IR code field that begins with 5 to designate RC5 code. for the on code you will enter 04 12 01 respectively. this will however generate the same code that springs gave you in this thread which may indicate that you have other issues. The code value that I gave you is direct from marantz so i am not sure where the problem may be. Let us know if this works for you.
