I am having trouble connecting to my PC. First of all, do I neet a RFX9400 or will the TSU9400 connect to my wireless network without one?

I have entered the SSID, WEP and hex code in system properties. I have tried to enter both the computer name and the IP address in the device properties. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

The PC is a wireless laptop running XP Home, WMP 11, and I have installed PadOne. I have turned off the firewall and still get a connection failed notice on the Pronto.

I am not new at the Pronto thing but am new at the TSU9400 thing trying to use the wireless functions. If I did not include enough information, please let me know. Any and all help is very much appreciated.

On the TSU9400, you need to enable Network Mode and you need to have a compatible wireless router. The SSID is the ID of your network. If you are using WEP, you will then assign a passphrase or hex key that you can obtain from your router config.

You cannot connect the TSU9400 directly to your PC, instead, it is assigned an IP address on your network. Then on the MCE device in your configuration, you assign the IP address of the PC that is running Pad One.

I have entered the SSID and hex key that I located on the firmware of the router. I ran ipconfig on the PC and came up with 192.168.3.3. I entered that in the device properties of the WMC device in the editor software. I checked the "Enable Wireless on Pronto Control Panel" and selected "with wireless and seriel extenders in network mode" in the System Properties. Under IP settings I selected DHCP. My network assigned the Pronto 192.168.3.6 and my extender 192.168.3.7, not that that matters but my router did see both the pronto and the extender. I can't figure what else may be the problem.

Search for +Pad +One for the last year.

I seem to recall a thread that explained that some special configuration was required on the router for some port forwarding or ensuring that McAfee Virus Scan or other software allowed some Non HTTP ports on the PC to be accessed.

Edit -
I think this is it but you will want to search as there are some other threads that provide more background info.
