I'm programming a new TSU-9400 and using the factory database I can't get any of the codes for discrete power for the Sony SAT-T60 DireTivo to work. Power toggle is fine. I've downloaded several CCFs, searched the internet, and nothing is working. Does this unit not support discrete power codes?

Send me a sample of the power toggle and If it is what I think it is (standard sony protocol) I think I can make the discrete power codes. They may not exist, but every piece of sony gear I have seen that uses their classic protocol uses the same codes for Power on, power off and power toggle.

Just post the pronto hex here and i will look at it sometime today

Here is the power toggle code I got:

0000 0068 0000 0010 0060 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0315

Try the following 3 codes.

The format is the newer Sony protocol (8 bit bytes) Toggle was 21 in the old format, and assuming they kept the codes the same the following should work

21 (Power toggle)
0000 0068 0000 0010 0060 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0315

46 (power On)
0000 0068 0000 0010 0060 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0315

47 (power Off)
0000 0068 0000 0010 0060 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0018 0030 0018 0018 0018 0030 0315

The toggle works (course it's the same as the one I posted), neither of the discrete codes work.

Sorry, Those are the codes in the same protocol as the toggle you gave me. They use the "Sony standard" for Power on and Power off. Either the device does not implement them or Sony has changed the codes. I could give you a text file containing all 128 possible codes for the device in the same protocol, but then you would have to try each one

Thanks Barry, I did a search through the discrete hunter forum and apparently it doesn't implment them. May have a work around though.

I think they are just Sony Satellite codes but they will work (for Codeset 1)

If not, don't sweat it, just leave it on and save yourself some agony. Most folks do just leave them on.

Grego,

For all practical purposes, the codes you posted are the same as the ones I posted which timb indicated do not work. The only difference is about 100 cycles in clock frequency (out of roughly 38000) and the duration of the final off time which differs by about 1800 microseconds

Would be Ok to leave on, but if the box is not in sight or in a remote area, sending a discrete on with a macro assures the box will be on every time (if it happened to be off).

It is possible that His Tivo is set to a different codeset. We used those all the time.

His "Tivo" is a Sony Sat receiver. I am not sure what the DireTivo comment is about but I suspect he wants to drive it for control purposes fropm the DireTivo.

In any case it is a Sony unit he needs the codes for. Sony does have the concept of unit codes, but they handle it by using a subrange of the device code. In the case we are discussing the device code is 183, so if there were "Unit Codes" I suspect the device codes might be from 183-187. Just conjecture based upon past history.

The codeset of a Tivo system only affects IR patterns coming in to the Tivo to allow for multiple Tivo's in the same rack.

Grego, those codes did not work either. The SAT-T60 was a Sony manufactured DirecTivo unit, the only one Sony ever produced I think. This was before DirecTV started making their own receivers.

Bummer they did not work.

We used to install them all the time and that is where I got the codes from. If it helps, the codes are standard Sony Satellite receiver codes. They just added the Tivo exclusive IR codes for this unit.

If his unit was set to " IR codeset 2" Then the codes I shared would not work.
