Hi!

I just ordered a 9600 from the States, but intend to use it in Europe. The plug of the adaptor will be a US model. What is the easiest way to use it in Europe? Does Philips sell extra adaptors or is it possible to go for a generic adaptor plug?

There's an enormous price difference btw, the 9600 costs around 1300E here while it can be found for about 640€ in the States. The most ironic thing is, I hear it is manufactured in Belgium, where I happen to live...

The power supply takes 100-240V at 50 or 60 Hz. So you just need a plug adapter which you can buy in a travel goods shop.

How about just cutting the US plug off and wiring it back into a "native plug"?

That would be illegal (at least where I am).

Really??!! Thats sounds quite harsh on you guys (where ever you are!). Don't your authorities trust the DIY'ers wiring skills?!
I guess the nanny state is creeping in to the UK also - but so far it isn't illegal to do this here (yet AFAIK!).

I have been an MIEE (now MITE) for 40 years and in the UK they don't trust me to re-wire houses. But I can make test equipment to test fly-by-wire aerospace dooveries.
Plugs? Just let them tell me I can't change them.

Still looking for info on 9200, 9400 &/or 9600 and programmbale timers. Any ideas?

Red,

For future reference as your Timer discussion is completely off topic for this thread, you should create a new thread after searching to see if there's one already available for which the subject line matches your general question. Not trying to be an ass here, but rather suggest some structure so others with the same questions that you have have some structure they can search against without getting spurious topics mixed in.

Here is a previous post. Please notice the subject line.

In the meantime, I've said it before but I'll say it again.

There are no programmable timers like you had on the Classic and NG remotes available on the 9400/9600. Have not seen a 9200 but I'd highly doubt this functionality will be available.
