As an owner of an MX-3000, I've about had enough of URC's treatment and disregard for existing customers. So, a quick question to those in the know - would you recommend the new Pronto TSU9600 over the MX-3000? From what I've read here, everyone seems pretty positive about it and it sound like Philips listen to their customers pretty well. Anybody got a short list of pros and cons to help me make my mind up? Many thanks in advance.

The 9600 does not support animated GIFs or give page fly-ins like the MX-3000. Additonally, there is no custom font or variable support as of yet. However, both remotes support WAV files and the 9600 supports WI-FI communication with Escient devices.

blakrj, while I don't own an MX-3000, I have asked the same question myself on Remote Central (and elsewhere) to conclude that the 9600 was more interesting. Apparently the MX-3000 is a pretty good remote and I may have bought it if it had been cheaper than the 9600.
However, it appears that both are around the same price. Given my simple single room requirement, the potential difficulty of getting support for the MX-3000, the resolution and brightness of the 9600 screen as well as a bit better ergonomics won me over.
