Hello, everyone. A few days ago my 9400 suddenly showed numerous vertical lines amid the screen view. Then the screen went black and the unit went unresponsive. I tried a lot of button-pushing and a new battery; no change.

Does this sound like the unit is done, or could there be some secret way of rebooting (or whatever)?

If you put it on the dock, will it accept a firmware download? If you can somehow get it to accept a firmware download, then you should hopefully be able to do a complete firmware reset (pressing Firm2,Firm3,Firm4) within 2 seconds after a reboot. This will reset to the original philips configuration and you can then re-download your config (assuming you have it in storage somewhere).

If none of this works, then yes, it is dead.

Thanks Lyndel. I'll do a search to find the steps for a firmware download, and will then try the reset.
