Hi,

I am having some problems learning directional buttons from my original remote for a TViX M5000U Multimedia Player ([Link: tvix.co.kr]). In this player I can control a "cursor" that scrolls through a playlist of files.

I am trying to learn these to the hard cursor keys.

The problems I am having are the following:

1.Learn signal by continual press on original remote until 9600 beeps.

This usually results in a code that will f.x. jump 2 lines down in the list i.e. skip one line. Obviously not good at all. Also a second press on the 9600 will not do anything but a 3rd press will jump 2 lines again.

2. Learn signal by short press i.e. usual operation of the original remote.

This results in a code that works correctly (will go down 1 line at a time), but I cannot hold the button down on the 9600 for repeated presses/scrolling.

I have also tried learning raw IR but that too does not produce the correct result.

Also I have tried to learn the code for the original remote to the pronto via a Logitech MX885 remote and I get different HEX codes depending on which remote I use (The original or the Logitech)

I am attaching two examples of the codes here below:

Down button (Via original remote):

0000 006E 0022 0002 0155 00AA 0015 0015 0015 0015 0016 0015 0015 0015 0015

0016 0040 0015 0015 0016 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0016 0040 0015 0015 0016
0015 0015 0040 0016 0015 0015 0040 0016 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0016 0040

Right button (via Logitech remote):

0000 006E 0026 0000 0154 00AA 0015 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0015 0015 0016
0015 0016 003F 0016 0015 0016 0015 0015 0040 0016 003F 0016 0040 0015 0040
0016 003F 0016 0015 0016 003F 0016 0040 0015 0040 0016 003F 0016 0040 0015
0040 0016 003F 0016 0015 0016 003F 0016 0015 0016 0015 0015 0015 0016 0015
0016 0015 0015 0015 0016 0040 0015 0015 0016 0040 0015 05E6 0154 0055 0016
0E33 0154 0055 0016 C590

I am hoping someone can help me with this.

Regards,

I had similar problems with regards to the front end running on my HTPC. No matter what codes I used or how I learned them a given function would execute twice on my PC instead of once with each button press. In my case adding a minimum IR duration of .10 seconds to each of my learned IR codes via the editor solved the problem.

I am sorry, I forgot to state that I already have tried that. That did unfortunately not help.

The thing that burnt me last week when I was trying to learn codes with my TSU9600 was that the batteries weren't fresh in my Yamaha remote. As soon as I put new batteries in, it worked just fine. You might want to check that if you haven't already. In my case one battery was good (1.47v) but the other was corroded and only .75v or so.
A little nuts, but I'm single so I can usually get away with it.

Issue fixed ! I received a reply to my posting here from the Pronto Team and I ended up changing the duration to 0.9 ms and everything works fine.

Anybody have an idea how I can implement an IR duration on a URC MX-950? I'm having the same problem with the up/down buttons and would like to try it.

Thanks

Did you try the URC forum? This is the TSU9600 forum.
