Very well-known property of Windows remote protocol seems to be properly taken into account and is handled correctly between the standard Pronto IR database, panel/extender firmware and PEP software - everything works fine, except the learning (no surprise here) and… macros. If you assign a multistep macro to a button (in my case the first command is for receiver, the second one for media center), the panel (or the configuration created by PEP) seems to stop alternating the toggle bit with all the consequences.

I am missing something here?

Thanks!

Search the NG forum for Media Center Debounce as there is a registry setting that controls this. The name of the key may change with different releases of WMC but you should be able to get enough information to move you forward from this search.

Once you turn debounce off for WMC, I think you should be fine.

Yes, I can surely disable the toggle bit detection or even switch to be using a different remote driver in Windows altogether. It's not a question of making it work (I do have multiple workarounds) - I am just wondering if this limitation of the pronto FW/SW (which clearly is a bug as opposed to a "missing feature" since they handle it correctly if the IR command is used by itself) can be fixed in the system configuration, IR database, etc. so that it starts alternating the toggle bit in the multistep macros as well.

Thanks!

I was not aware of this limitation/bug. Are you using an extender or sending IR from the Pronto directly?

Also, did you email Prontoteam at Philips dot com? Not sure if you will get an answer but it is worth a shot.

I am seeing it with RFX9400. Don't know if just the panel without the extender exhibits the same behavior (for me it's not as simple with the PC in the garage and the display device in the media room), I will probably give it a try too on the weekend.

I've just emailed the prontoteam - let's see what happens.

Thanks!

The panel alone, with no extender, works fine. So, it indeed seems like a problem with RFX9400.

That is indeed interesting.
