Dear All custom installer, and Pronto Enthusiasts,

I am shocked as all of you must be about Philips' announcement to drop Pronto.

I have created an online petition. If you feel as strongly as I do about this, please get as many to sign this as possible.

My apologies if I have breached the rules of this forum by soliciting your action - but I feel that this change is just going to create a massive black hole in the remote control market.

Well i doubt this will make a difference, since the pronto is a product that was made by philips to generate revenue, and not doing a public service, but i might sign it just for the fun of it.

Do we know if Pronto was actually making money? Phillips only stated that it didn't fit with their strategy (corp speak for we want to get out of the business). If Pronto is making money, then I would assume somebody might purchase them? Looks like this has not happened yet.... SJ

If someone was interested in it, it would depend more on Philips asking price then how much money it makes.

The only thing I am sure of in the above thread is that Anthony spends a lot of time at RemoteCentral. My hat is off to you Anthony (in respect).

lol, not as much as you might think, it is because I have been here a long time. But if it was not for the Pronto, I probably would have never made it here. I used to love the community in the early days when you and others would come up with cool ideas of how to turn an excellent remote into something much more. But I think the difference between the two of us is that eventually I realized there where other forums here :)
