I have been trying to redo my xcf file since the original was deleted accidentaly. Therefore the only thing I am redoing is the xcf everything esle is unchanged. I was cruising right along until I came up with this issue.

I merged the mce controller script onto my xcf and it longer works as before. I after I download my xcf to the remote I get the following error msg.

Binary configuration file generation message log:

Jump removed from key action list (activity = 'System', key = 'Navigate')

Number of Errors: 1.

it shows on my remote that I am connected to wifi but WMC does not launch as it normally does when using this script. I also tried to edit the original xcf with my network settings, without doing a merge and it also produced the same results. All my other scripts ie: slimpronto, work just fine with a simple merge and settings changes. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? Or how I can fix it?

You can safely ignore this warning.

This is caused by using a configuration file which contains elements which originate in the old Pronto series (i.e. through a CCF import in PEP1).

Some older Pronto models used to have a 'Navigate' button. When PEP2 downloads such a configuration to a Pronto TSU9x00, it will not include this non-existing hard button in the configuration file sent to the control panel.

Is MCE Controller receiving any commands?

Double-click on the MCE Controller icon in the task bar. You should see the MCE controller log. Try a few MCE commands on you Pronto and see if MCE controller is receiving.

If you are only looking to control Media Center on your PC, you may want have a look at VMC controller.

http://vmccontroller.codeplex.com/

VMC has 2-way communication. The only draw back is that VMC is only for use in a already open/running Media Center. You cannot launch Media Center using VMC.

I am in the early stages of doing an Media Center activity that I can control with MCE Controller and receive meta data with VMC Controller. A bit of testing to get through first.

I'm having trouble with this too.

I have VMC controller installed and working on my pc, my iphone running irule can connect to it and it works fine. The VMC controller doesn't see the pronto at all. I have set the ip address and port number in the config. Anything else I should do?

Like I said before, I had it working and MCE lauched and worked perfectly. I opened the VMC controller and all it says is "loaded 59 commands. Server: listening on pc" I tried some commands and nothing see to be happening. I merged the xcf and changed the ip in the parameters file. Thats all I remember doing before. Am I missing something?

Are you using the same port (e.g. 40500) for the Pronto and the iPhone?

I have used the default port for both 5150, the iphone connects to the server and shows as connected, switch it off and it shows as disconnected. The pronto does nothing. It never says connected in the controller log. I have definitely set the port and ip correctly on the configure page.

Thanks for trying to help.

I've been using MCE controller.....didn't realise there were two programs just getting a little muddled here but I am using it with the windows media center controller script in the files section.

I'll assume that you are refering to the Windows Media Center script by Stefan Johansson from the file section.

Do you have your WiFi connection configured properly in your XCF's system properties?

Are your other TCP/IP activities working correctly?

Have you set your IP address and port in MCE activity/parameters page?

Have you made any alteration to the original (Stefan Johansson) script?

No need to reply to those questions, just some items worth checking (again!).

From the info you have given it sounds like the problem may be network related. If your iPhone is closing it's connection to MCE Controller then the MCE Controller log should say something like "Listening on port 5150". In which case you should be able to connect with the Pronto, provided the Pronto has network access and the addresses/ports are configured.

Maybe try downloading the script again and run it, or merge it with your project. If that doesn't work, I'd suggest you double check your Pronto's network config.

I don't have a second device using MCE Controller so I can't be sure that any of the above will help you, but it's a good place to start.

I got it working eventually, it was a combination of me modifing the script to fit mu tsu9400 and my competence....

The thing I'm trying to work out is when I jump to the main control page it also throws a menu command and I don't seem to be able to get rid of it. Any ideas?

If you are using the original "Green Button" there is script applied. Just delete the script and then add a jump to the media center activity/page. Should be OK.
