I would have posted this in the other thread but I thought it would get lost.

I heard from one of the local rep firms who Philips employed about 6 months ago. They received communications that Philips would discontinue operations on Nov 30th and they also gave notice to end the rep relationship.

I thought maybe some of you might want to know about any firm dates, etc.

I have asked my rep contact to press them to see what commitment Philips was planning to make regarding spare parts availability.

This could have a significant impact on many of my plans with clients who are heavily invested in the Philips platform and might have impact on your situation as well.

I can confirm Philips will accept orders until the end of this month and will provide spare parts for atleast two more years. You'll need a distributor ofcourse.

Hard to say, some could work for decades will others might be broken after days. The one I'm using for programing is one from the first batch and has been used extensively, but it still works as new.

Battery change is not easy but not hard. Yoiu need the correct size torx driver, need to know where the screws are, and how to open the case (carefully) without breaking any tabs. I think there was a thread on this some time ago.

There are service manuals that detail the assembly/dis-assembly available on the old Pronto site, in the Pro area. I had a quick look at the new site and don't see them listed.

There is also a spare parts doc available on the old site. That may come in handy for the future.
"Home" is where my Pronto is.

Hadn't come across these. Just looked in the pro area of both old and new site and didn't see them. Where are they hiding on the old site?

I don't think it was ever on the Philips site. A user download a copy to Daniel for inclusion here but I believe Daniel said Philips objected so he either took it down or never put it up.

I found one online somewhere for $15.

Wondering if the parts estimate will apply for the US-Market as well?
