Second post, different issue :)

Anyone else seeing corruption of the editor window in PeP 2.4.23.0? Here is an example of what I mean:

Those horizontal lines get worse over time, especially if I drag buttons around. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate x64, in case that matters (it shouldn't). It looks fine in the simulator and on the Pronto itself.

TIA for any help.

Lets start at the begining,

was the PC / Laptop designed to Run Windows 7?

If so is it a dell ? do a search on Google there has been a number of funny graphics issues with Dell computers.

If not designed to run Windows & is there an uptodate graphics card driver for win 7?
Pronto still one of the best Wi-Fi Remotes,

Kean,

I think you have done the following:

1. You placed the blue background and time/date widgets on the system page.
2. The image you presented is the image of a page either in the Home activity or any other activity.

If this is the case, then what you are seeing is normal behavior of the editor. The hash lines are drawn kind of like window blinds to emphasize items that are on the system page vs items on the current page.

If you want to view the real image, simulate the configuration (remove any extenders from your components prior to simulation or you will get command-failed errors). If you want to overcome the command-failed errors, search for TCP emulator Jon Welfinger and you can find information about an additional program that will allow you to simulate with TCP/IP and the extenders.

And yes, the picture will look fine on the remote as well.

However, if you are having repaint issues such that the screen is not refreshed properly and the hash lines are garbled, then you should investigate the graphics card issues mentioned by GoPronto.

Thanks for the responses guys!

@gopronto: Its a home built system so it doesn't have a Windows certification logo but its pretty standard: Core i7 mobo, 12GB ram, lots of HDD, 2x nVidia 8800GTX's. Drivers are up to date, Windows update is run daily. I don't think its a PC issue at all as this has been an exceptionally reliable machine and absolutely everything else works with it. I think Lyndel hit the nail though.

@lyndel: I think its the "window blinds" thing, just the software trying to be helpful. It would be really nice if there was an option to turn that off, as I know whats on the system page and whats on the activity page and it would be much more useful to me to have visual accuracy than the "this other stuff is behind your image" hints. But thank you very much for the responses, both of you.

From time to time, I notice little visual infidelities in the editor and the simulator, but I have learned to ignore them.

For example, on my Vista and Win7 machines the lower case "I" looks like a lower case "L". It seems that there is an error in the font. I have learned that it looks fine on the actual remote.

I too would like this option but it is not available. I've learned to live with it. This is a holdover feature from the previous NG editors.
