hi all, first time poster, i am building a dedicated htpc to use with my new home cinema, and i am about to purchase the Philips TSU9600 , one question i have is how can i connect this to my pc to control XBMC (or any media software) i take it it will be via Wi-Fi, i used to use an iphone 3g (over wifi) that was great but i would like to get all components onto one remote if possible, also is there a way the Philips TSU9600 can control a SONOS system??

thanks in advance

Welcome to the Pronto Addiction!

Search is your friend. It will help you out in a bind. Search this forum for PadOne(MCE) and for Sonos. You can also download the latest editor from the Files Section here. PEPv2. There is a Sonos module available from Philips on their download site. All you need is a user account. http://www.pronto.philips.com

Look at eventghost. its free and lightweight. just install it on your htpc and set up the network event reciever to catch the packets from the pronto. Someone wrote a brief howto on the board a while back.

If you learn prontoscript and are willing to program HTTP protocol in the Prontopscript system, then XBMC has a HTTP interface that allows you to fully control it from a pronto PRO with no extenders needed.

If you have a USB IR Reciever for use with Windows Media Center you can use it with XBMC or Windows Media Center. The codes were in the database for the one I own. [Link: shop.ebay.com]

Some of the buttons are a little different in XBMC but it works. This is one way to do it without Prontoscript . One thing you can't do with the IR is type Text but, I think a on-screen keyboard appears when you need it .

I was wondering if anybody might have a way of adding text and mouse over IR ? Maybe a code in the database I can try.
