-What would be an easy way to get music in all of my rooms of my house (or a customers home)? -How can I control this? -What can I connect to this system? -Will the music quality be good? -Can I afford the system and especially the programming?
Well, here’s your answer!
Yes, you can…
Simply use our easy-to-configure Pronto Script and the wonderful Crestron Adagio Multiroom System and in less than a day set-up time you’re ready to rock’n’roll!
This system delivers powerful 2x45W (RMS) to your stereo zones (unlimited zones!), each zone equipped with a powerful EQ, packed with great features like Multi-Zone control, Group Control, individual source selection and much, much more…
Simply use your Philips homecontrollers TSU9600 and/or TSU9800 to bi-directionally control the greatest sounding Multiroom system out there!
We also support all Apple mobile devices with a free App (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad) as well as Macs and PCs to control your Multiroom system.
There is absolutely NO CRESTRON PROGRAMMING needed – simply use our Crestron module and give it your specific IP address – done!
Check out our videos how amazingly simple it is to set this up and get it to work!
The ideal multiroom system would be a setup with apple.. For me although, and as you can see, there are some issues.
(non-pronto also, but i feel a need to share )
- Just instal iTunes. (free, simple, no-support) - Pick up some airport express (E100,00) - Hook up an Russound D-Class Amp (fixed volume with auto stand-by and Amp passtrough) - Pick your iPod (in extension you could jailbreak to disable the home button and stand-by screen and use the sensor for auto wake up ) - Install Apple remote program - Choose your music, and your play location. - Missing: you can only add zone's, you can't turn a zone on or off. Also you control all the volume's.
My customers want's apple, they beg me for Apple, They scream for Apple. If somebody got this working. He would be my hero!
That's not what i mentioned earlier. Although, the marantz seems a good simple 3-zone solution. But if a want a central system, i prefer speakercraft or Russound.
What i mentioned was based on max. 350 euro for one zone, with a great flexabiliteit and with a high marketing value. Only thing is that Apple don't allow you to control your volume for each zone.
Have a look at Airfoil which allows you to capture any applications sound output, e.g. Squeeze or iTunes, and send it to any airport express with individual volume control. Airfoil can be controlled via indigo or any other app that allows remote applescript execution (dont know about windows). Use it my house and works a treat. IF you want to be really sophisticated you can VM up multiple iTunes servers or have >1 AppleTV (or using Squeeze to multiple players etc) and then with a modicom of javascript you can have different sources in each room playing or all rooms playing the same source or any combination thereof.......using ProntoTunes you can connect to each source and change its speaker output from the Pronto if you want to do it realtime and can't be bothered with Javascript.
I control it using Indigo which is a home automation tool that allows you to fire applescripts from a browser interface which obviously I can access through the Pronto (no doubt there are other ways but this fits with my overall solution). There is already a pronto module that allows you to talk to Indigo (scan the Indigo forums). If you have X10 or many other home automation products, Indigo will control them allowing easy automation off the pronto also......
If you look in the Airfoil support section they already have examples of the applescript code required to select the audio source to hijack, turn speakers on and off and set their volume. Even I could do it so it was not that tough! Even used it to hijack Spotify the other day and play it out through all the Airport Expresses in my house simultaneously! Got a big ooooo from the assembled punters.
Now just thinking about how I can control spotify through Applescript or get Tenchi to write a ProntoSpotify module (he is giving some lame excuse about Spotify having not made it to Aus yet). Come on Tenchi! Just because you can't beat us at cricket anymore don't be sore!
