I have a pronto 9600 in an existing installation controlling some AV kit via an RXF9400 (using RF). I want to add in control for a Sonos system using the new module. Is it simply a matter of adding the module in and configuring the wireless on the 9600? i.e. will it continue to send RF commands to my AV kit, but also talk over IP to sonos? Or is some configuration of the extender required?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help..... :o)

The extender will not be required. You will need to configure the remote for Network mode to be able to communicate with media servers in PEP. This will enable the IP capabilities. As remote is in Network mode, you will not be able to configure RFX9400 in standalone mode, but must instead use Network mode. You will still communicate with other equipment via extender and IR but Sonos will be TCP/IP.

Thanks very much for the reply.

To clarify, will the RXF9400 need to be plugged into the network? Or can the 9600 connect to a different WAP, but at the same time communicate with the RXF9400 as it is currently doing?

The RFX9400 will have to be part of the same network as the TSU9600 and the Sonos system.

The TSU9600 can operate either in "Standalone" mode (communicating directly with extenders), or it can operate in "Networked" mode (communicating with other devices, including extenders, via a WiFi access point). It cannot do both at the same time.

As a WiFi link is less robust than a wired Ethernet connection, I would advise to connect both the RFX9400 and the Sonos system to your WAP using Ethernet.

I cant get the Prontoscript sonos module to work for the life of me.

I am running 9600 in wifi mode in congruence with RX9400 and RFX9600 extenders. Using sonos 90 unit connected to a the same router as my extenders. Sonos is working with C200.

Maybe I need help with the settings in PEP to allow for full Networking capabilities? I have wireless, serial extender and music server checked....

I have no idea. any help with be appreciated.

Hi , you will need PEP2 and firmware version 7.3.3, you will also need a Router that can issue a ip address to the sonos unit using the mac address of the Sonos unit and gettting the router to issur it with the same IP address, somtimes called Mac pooling.
Pronto still one of the best Wi-Fi Remotes,
