Is been some time, and very little activities, since Philips formally launch the TSU9600 and the extenders: RFX9400 & RFX9600. So little actions has been taken that some of the industry veteran’s starting to assume that Philips was to abandon the project completely; I guess, sour memories from the TSI6400, AKA iPRONTO, still fresh on many custom install professionals and users alike.

People still think that Philips lack the discipline required taking on a project of this magnitude. Is call the "Big Corporation Syndrome"; they are very much overwhelm with so many plans that can easily loose focus on any legit goal, loose patient creating unrealistic spectations to a point of cut funding and research into the remote business, for a more short term lucrative goal.

Fast forward for today, there is a "good sign" about the future of the TSU9600 and the extenders:

Philips have, finally, schedule training in AVAD facilities; I am register for Friday 29, 2007 in the local Westbury office. I will look forward to any news from Philips and will take an "open mind" attitude in hope for a positive response, about time!

Lest hope for the best!
Live Long and Prosper!

They had training on the 9600 last October I think it was.

Where they sat there and told us we could get a 9400 now and the 9600 in a few weeks. The 9600 was a little later.

The functionality of the Escients was limited to music side only via the built in module. The control of the Lutron was ready to go provided you could get a hold of the 9600 at the time too.

Trainer told us that the DVD functionality was to be added "soon" Well we are coming up on 9 months now... ? Also he asked... "is there any product you would like to see this integrated with". SONOS! I said. "We have been working with them on this and should have that ready soon..." He liked the word soon. I have been working for a Sonos dealer for a while now and I think the announcement of BestBuy having it might help us. As some people really just can't get that itunes thing. BUT REGARDLESS. When I asked Sonos about the 9600 I could hear the crickets... Have not looked into it in some time.

There is a class today that I hope I can go to...

Made it to class... DVD functonality in the next software release for Escients. Once again "SOON..." "Couple of weeks."
Me, "So from Last October to Now..."
