I wrote to prontosupport@philips.com on Friday and I'm now waiting for a reply concerning their ProntoEdit Professional software update (hopefuly with Vista support). I don't have the Pronto TSU9600 yet but it's coming in this week.
I will write back as soon as I hear from them about the software update. I guess we need to be patient, it's only been 6 month! Ha! Ha!

I would think that the question is not whether or not the next release will be Vista compatible, but when will the next release be available. I'm hoping soon.
May the pronto be with you

Plasmakris: Believe me, I know the feeling. It's been long enough already, but it will come eventually.

The next software release works with Vista. Hopefully it will be available real soon.

Good things come to those who wait. Like Peter, I'm hoping for soon but I'd rather have a solid release than a quirky/buggy one?

I have the Editor working with vista already! Have you guys tried running the installer in the vista xp mode? You go to start>control panel>programs>run program in XP mode>select install file. Then just start following the onscreen instructions.

Hi,
Here's the reply I got today from the Pronto support staff:

==> Thank you for contacting Philips online support.

There has been a delay in completion but we do expect the Vista compatible software to be available by the end of June.

Sincerely,
Jimmy

There is hope after all to see this in the next few weeks so I guess that's good news.

Here's a link to a web site that also says the new Prontodit Pro software with Windows Vista support should be released by the end of June 2007:

[Link: in-control.com.au] (read the last question and answer)

I got my new Pronto TSU9600 this week and since I run Vista on my computer, I cannot connect the TSU9600 to it yet. I'm thinking of actually re-installing Windows XP since I cannot wait to program the TSU9600. But I will wait and it will be worth it I'm sure. The TSU9600 is one sweet remote !
