I read numerous thread from this forum but I still can't figure how to set up a connection with my remote.

My router is a D-Link DIR-615....

In PEP2 i open the network settings and select:

a) wireless (network options)
b) 15 minutes (wireless timeout)
c) with wireless & serial extenders and or music server (use control panel)
d) single access point - automatic (advanced wifi)
e) enter my SSID (SSID)
f) WPA (encryption)
g) enter my passphrase (passphrase)
h) DHCP (ip setting)

it's trying to establish a connection but without success

Can somebody help me please....
Thank you for taking the time to respond to this

ulysse,

Rather than using a passphrase, try using a hex key.

It is WPA, so passphrase is fine.
Is your passphrase between 8-63 characters long?
Note that BOTH SSID and WPA passphrase are case sensitive!

If above did not help, you could try to see if the link works without encryption, then you might better find the rootcause of the problem. What icon does the remote show?

the passphrase is 8 characters long and I respect the case sensitive aspect. With or without encryption I have the ...no connection icon !

Even using the Push Button Configuration on the router does not establish a connection.

Have you updated the firmware on the remote? It won't connect to a WPA network unless it's got v7.1.21.

For me a passphrase with mixed lower and upper case characters didn't work. Only when I changed my network passphrase to ALL UPPERCASE I managed to establish a connection.

Try to disable the wireless N function if you haven't tryed.
Set it to B-G only if possible.

I gave up on the WPA, for two reasons:

1. You have to broadcast your SSID (which I do not want to do)
2. WPA connection was intermittent, with the remote becoming unresponsible frequently

Until there is new firmware to fix the WPA problems, you may be better off using WEP - which has been rock solid (at least for me).

So I have to change my complete network to WEP ?
