Still using PEP 1, but considering moving to PEP 2.

However, I'm slightly confused about using PEP 2 with two computers.

I was told by a Philips trainer that a PEP 2 xcf file does not contain any IR codes. Therefore, if you program a 9400 or 9600 on your office PC, and then transfer the xcf to your laptop for more programming at a client's house, you also need to copy the database to the laptop as well -- right?

If this is the case, is the database a normal windows copy, or do I have to back it up and restore?

Also, what happens if I also have PEP 1 and the 9200 software sharing the same database on both machines?

Thanks,

Dawn

You have to backup and restore your database. Unfortunally you don´t see the version number. This is complicating this action, if you use several computers.

9200: no idea; I do not use this remote control.

when you open a XCF file with a custom device ( that's not in the standard database ) in it on another computer. you just press the MY DATABASE button, and the custom device is added to that computers database.

This works for me..

kevin82,

Are ALL of the device's IR codes added to the second computers MyDatabase? Or, only the codes used in the program?

All the codes of the custom device are copied. even if the device is not in the philips database.

i noticed this when my laptop crashed, and i only had a backup of my XCF files and not of my database. i then just opened all the files individualy and pressed the MY DATABASE button. now i have my database complete again!!
