Hi all, I spent some time on the pronto and put in the button backgrounds and replaced all my buttons with the only 1 in the gallery that fits into the box. I now find that all the buttons I replaced only work if I use my finger nail right on the word in the button. All my old buttons where smaller and worked without a problem just using my finger.
I thought the whole button space would respond been even easier than before.

The problem is that you used the images from the gallery that are 100% transparent and therefore, cannot be pressed. I know this because you say that the button is only pressable on the non-tranparent part, the text.

You need to be using partially transparent(but not visible) images. To do this you will need to create a white (or other color) rectangular image is an image editor and set the transparency of the layer to either 99% or the opacity to 1%. This will give you an almost transparent button that is pressable across the entire rectangular area.

This topic has been discussed in the NG forum numerous times so you may also want to search there as well.

Thanks for that Lyndel. What good are the buttons in the gallery, if you set them to be transparent you get all this other crap around the button....

Jason,

I presumed you were using the Transparent rectangular images from the gallery. If this is they case, these were supplied by Philips for purposes of displaying transparent text (the NG remotes did not have the capability of specifying NoFill=true for panels-New for TSU9600). I think these are holdovers and should IMHO, really be removed because they are not useable for buttons.

Any other button image from the gallery, per se, should be fully pressable if there's a visible shape for the button that you can see.

So, I will ask. What is the name of the image/button from the gallery that you are attempting to use just so I can ensure we are both on the same page.

I don't find buttons by that name in the gallery. When you added the image to a button, I bet you selected the Images category named 'Text Panels'. Am I on the mark here? If so, these images will never work as pressable buttons. They were legacy holdovers from the NG remotes where the editor did not have 'No Fill' option for Panels as I mentioned previosly.
