There has been a lot of discussions about why WEP and no WPA security for the Pronto.
I think it's a shame that there is no WPA option.
I have WEP security in my router just because the Pronto TSX9600 wants it and nothing else (like WPA or WPA2), so all my other computers and my wireless printer have to work with it and accept this bad and easy to crack security.
The WEP is restricted to a 10 digit HEX security key in my Netgear router.
My Time Capsule for my Mac however asks for a 13 digit number, so it will not work (??).
When WPA or WPA2 would be an option for the Pronto it would be much easier....
Does anyone know how to solve my Time Capsule problem?
On the internet I read that there is something like an 'initialisation factor' to add to the 10 digits and get a working 13 digit number??? Or am I wrong?

try putting a $ in front of your 10 digit key. ( $F9821G7Y8K )

You could also dedicate to the Pronto a router with WEP and have another WAP router for the rest of your home network to increase your security.

1) Connect one of the WPA router’s LAN ports to the Internet or WAN port on the WEP router. This allows both routers to share the same internet connection.

2) The WAN port on the WEP router should have a unique IP address on the home network’s subnet.

3) One port on the WEP router should be port forwarded to allow access on the home network only via this port.

4) Close all other ports on the WEP router as the Pronto will not need to use them. Normally, this is done by default on most routers. By doing this, the WEP router is made as secure as it can possibly be, by only allowing data to flow in and out of one port onto the home network.

I added the $ sign before the hex key but that does not work.
Maybe a second router could solve my problem.
But because of a shameless shortcoming of the Pronto buying a second router....pppffff....
I think I 'll call the Apple servicedesk, maybe there is a better solution.....
