I'm trying to get the remote to work with Vista Media Center through RF via the pcx9200, but no luck so far.
Thanks to TomTanderson I got alot further regarding to the configuration, but the Configurator won't let me choose the "MCE PC controlled by PCX" which is in the Philips factory database. I click on the " add to mydatabase " but it won't show up in my mydatabase, all other remotes are no problem to add.

I even uninstalled and installed Windows Vista, in the hope it would be that, but that wasn't it.
Who knows how to get it to work, so I can use just one remote for my HTPC and all other components? ( now I still have to use the MCE remote for the pc and the tsu9200 for the rest)
I can't imagine nobody else with a pcx9200 won't get into this configuration mess, so maybe it's an idea to make a tutorial how to configure this remote, since the documentation is very bugy.

As I said in the other tread, it isn't in my 'MyDatabase' either but I can select it as a component in the Configurator program (maybe it is hard coded into the software); have you tried this?

Look in the component list for Brand Name=Philips, Component Type=MCE PC, Model Name=Media Center PC controlled by PCX, Control Type=PCX

.....and yes, the documentation is pretty dire!

OOops!! Thank you forever!!!!!! I finally did what you said, go manually through the complete list, instead of searching by name and there it was!!!!!
What a terrible software this is.
Anyway, thanks again!!

Glad you got there, now on to your first problem.....

I will be interested in your experience but I have a frustrating issue with commands involving switching on the VMC; I always get a 'command failed' failure. I presume this is because the RFX9200 doesn't power up and respond to the TSU9200 in time.

I would be interested if you find the same.

Hi Tom,

Do you mean switching on/off the pc or the media center software?
Both work here, the normal on/off hard buttons in VMC mode work as putting the PC in and out of sleep mode, I used the "start" activity button you mentioned as part of the activity macro to start VMC, no problems there.

Thanks for getting back to me.

The problem I am having is switching the PC on, i.e.coming out of sleep mode (issuing the "Power On - Philips - MCE PC - Media Center PC controlled by PCX") whether it is programmed (by default) through the hard power on button or progammed into an activity macro.

I always get the red cross at the top of the TSU9200 display and the "Command Failed" message. If I issue the command with the PC already on then it completes without an error message.

The fact that yours works makes me suspect that the problem may be because my motherboard currently doesn't supply power to the USB ports when in sleep mode. On previous motherboards there has been jumpers to enable this but this Intel board doesn't have any. When your PC is in sleep mode is the red LED still lit on the PCX9200?

Hi Tom, You're right about the jumpers, as I was reading through your reply that was the first thing that came up tp my mind. But you are already well known with it.
Isn't there a function in the BIOS that says "Power on by usb keyboard " or something like an usb mouse?
That could very well be the solution.
By the way, the red LED is NOT lit while in sleep mode.
I hope you will be able to get it going, after all it's very nice to be able to turn everything on and off with one push off a button!

Hello nielsje,
I have the same problem. TSU9200 + PCX9200
I have a Siemens Fujitsu Scaleo Multimedia PC (with MCE) and I have set RC to Philips type MCE controlled by PCX.
My situation is very interesting, the red led is on also when the PC sleeps/off.
I cannot switch PC on with remote throu PCX (but I can with an IR command, so this would not be the main issue).
If the PC is running, there is not a stable connection between PC and PCX (however I am sitting 1m away from PCX). If getting connection, the RC restarts several times, and then finally it starts to work, but cannot use all of keys. Something wrong with drivers? The Media Control application is green and working with Media, but I cannot use RC to remote control the PC (mouse, OK, left, right, play, stop, etc.)
Have you got an idea, what should I try to make it work?
thx
