I downloaded PEP 2 and have opened my PEP1 file. Just like the demo file for the 9600, my home page uses image buttons and each image button also has the text button next to it.

The text buttons no longer function as a button, even though they have the correct action icon, and the actions match the image button actions exactly. But none of them work as a button.

Also I have run the demo file included with PEP2 for the 9600 and they don't work as buttons in the simulator either.

I have searched the forums and online manual, but can't figure out what is wrong. Can anyone shed light on this?

Thanks to all!

I assume you mean that a text button has no image but it has text only on it. With such a button, the background is not clickable (as it is 100% transparent). You can only click on the text itself. Try it with the stylus.

If you want the background to be clickable, you need to place an image on your text button that is 99% transparent.

No go with the stylus either. The entire box used to work as a button. It still does with the simulator in PEP 1. What changed?

I don't think it is something I am doing wrong since the demo file doesn't work either. Can someone else check it in their version of PEP 2, just open the demo file under the 9600 folder. The buttons I'm talking about are on the Home pages and say: "Watch Live TV", "Watch Recorded TV", etc.

If I understand you correctly. Have you confirmed that your background is indeed in the background and buttons in the foreground.

Yes. I have checked that. You can try it yourself in the demo file : Demo TSU9600 Original.xcf . It is in the Pronto Projects/TSU9600 folder.

2.1.18.0

Are you able to click on the text "Watch DirecTV" or other text buttons? They don't work on my 9600 nor in the simulator.

hmmmm. The TV image for that button does overhang the text box a bit on the left side. Can you click on the right side of each of the text links?

I don't think it is related to my OS since it works the same way on the 9600, but I am currently using Windows running on a Mac through VMWare Fuzion.

Ok i have found an issue, its to do with the gaphic on each text button, if you add a graphic to the text button, it all works fine, dont know why it works some of the time and then not...

so you will need to add a graphic to the button may be a transparant one,

There is (or was) a known bug in the simulator where it does not handle transparency properly and behaves as you describe. However, the behaviour in the Pronto itself is correct.

There was also once a problem with the 'Transparent Panels' of the gallery such that they are 100% transparent. If used for a button, only the 'text' of the button will be pressable. To validate whether or not this is the case, simply set the button font to something rather large and use the stylus to press around.

Solution: Replace the image with one that is 99% transparent. (Requires an image editor).
