Hi there,

I have just purchased a TSU9400 to control the following equipment,

Krell 222 Pre-amp, Logitech Transporter.

Panasonic TH37PX80B Plasma TV, Virgin V+ cable box and Panasonic DMR-EX98VEB, DVD, VHS DVB recorder.

I’ve used a Logitech Harmony 1000 before but I’m finding the pronto quite difficult and the Phillips list of Equipment seems lacking in description and I feel I need a professional’s help in programming this remote.

I’m in the UK in Yorkshire and I wondered if there was anyone willing to assist me in learning how to set this remote up or for doing the programming for me.

Can someone verify if I bought I think it is ProntoSqueeze would that control my Logitech Transporter?

I would appreciate any help or guidance I am busy reading the help files and looking through the forum messages.

Many thanks, Tim.

Hi Tim,
there are a number of threads in the pronto pro forums that mention 'ProntoSqueeze'. Looks like it's a new name for the pronto slimserver modules. Maybe improvements as well. Long story short: I believe there is support for both squeezebox and transporter. Search the downloads section or the forum to see if this can be downloaded.
The modules should import directly into your Pronto Edit Professional v2 software. You will need to configure the module, apart from that programming requirements should be minimal if not non-existent.
Regarding the rest of your kit: It looks like you will be using InfraRed codes for almost everything. If you are having a 'hair pulling' day with the Philips equipment database; don't forget that the TSU's have a pretty good learning facility built into them. Also there are a number of hex code generators and documentation on the web that can assist with creating your own IR codes that will work with the pronto. I found that Sony equipment is one of the biggest bug bears when it comes to IR codes that work. Either way experiment with the different equipment in MyDatabase. If that doesn't work you can use the learning feature and capture from the pre-existing remotes from your equipment.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the capabilities of the Pronto. Depending on the connectivity of your devices (RS232, IR, Ethernet, etc), the RFX9600 and RFX9400 provide for more reliable communication and in some case psuedo two way communication between the pronto and the device.
The Pronto is a hobby for me (just got an RFX9600 extender to play with); in real life, I am a consultant for the hotel industry. By trade I am a programmer and database analyst (VB.net, C#.net, MSSQL, etc). Given the need to test pronto configurations against your hardware to ensure proper functionality; it wouldn't be feasible to do the programming work for you (I'm in Canada albeit my relatives hide out in Eccleston just outside of Chester). There are a lot of knowledgeable people who will respond to your questions in this forum. Thus if you are looking to get your feet wet and get a helping hand with tough problems; post away!
You can hide almost anything until you have to put the drywall up!

There are two different modules to control The Logitech family of Slim devices.

The original one was SlimPronto, and there is now another one called ProntoSqueeze. they have completely different looks and feels (User Interfaces), but they both control the players through SqueezeCenter.

I wrote SlimPronto so I can only answer questions regarding that module. Just do a search for either ProntoSqueeze or SlimPronto and I am sure you will find what you want
