Ordered a TSU9400 and have read the entire help file. Have been practicing and playing with Pronto Edit. First I want to add TV channel icons (I use Dish TurboHD). I see that a file named "Gallery US Channel Icons.gef" comes with Pronto Edit and is located in the Gallery folder. Does this have the bitmapped channel icons in it and if so how do I open it and get them into the Gallery (and which subfolder)?

Also I downloaded 2 files from the Phillips site named "Gallery US Channel Icons TSU9400" and "Gallery TSU9400". They contain lots of bitmapped icons. How do I get them into the Gallery and do you only add the ones you want. If you only add the ones you want/need how do you select them since there are 1000's to look at? Also which subfolder?

Should you pair down the Gallery to just the ones you use or have lots of choses in it?

Also none of my equipment is listed in the (screwy) database. While the codes may be there it is hard (impossible for me) to tell. I'm thinking it will be just as easy (maybe more time consuming but more accurate) to type in each component and key name (have done 1 remote already) and then use (fast) learn for each command. Does this sound like the way to proceed? Just for the record my equipment list is:

JVC DLA-HD10K projector
DVDO iScanVP50 scaler
Onkyo TX-NR905 receiver (use as pre-amp w/Emotive XPA-5 amp)
Dish VIP620DVR
OPPO DV-980H DVD (SA-CD/DVD-A)
Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray
RCA HDV5000 HD-DVD

i havent seen the files from the philips website your talkign about, but you can just drag the folder into the relevant folder in the gallery. if you go to the help section, and search for add to gallery, it will show you the path you need to follow for you OS.

again i havent seen these files, but you do need to make sure that each icon name ends in either _P or _R for Pressed or Released versions.

if there are loads of em that you will never use then by all means pair it down to something more useable, or seperate them into different folders so u can still access them if you need.

Hope that answers some of your questions

The instructions on the site don't work? I'm pretty sure I just downloaded them and followed the instructions. It should place all the icons in the gallery and you simply add the ones you want to use to your buttons.

Yes the database is a little rough, but as an example the Sony BDP-S1 should work for the BDP-S350. Often you can find a simplar item from the same manufacturer that uses the same codes.

Thanks,
So it looks like not only do I have to preview through all of them I will need to rename the ones I use.

I downloaded and extracted. It will not merge with the current Gallery (or I can't see it in merge) so how do I import it?

EDIT: It looks like I may be confusing the Gallery with My Database. I see a way to use another database in My Database. I just think I need to find the correct folder to copy it to. Don't have time to read the help file right now to find but will later.

The only 1 remote database, you can open it by clicking "open other database" somewhere in the my database screen (i think it was left below, but not sure).
But it's a infrared code database, no gallery..

Than add the components you need to "my database".
