I got an HP Laptop for an early xmas gift, I have been trying to get PEP2 to open on it and everytime I try during the initializing screen it says

"ProntoEdit Proffessional 2.0 has stopped working"
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I tried re-installing it using compatibility for XP service pack 2 and still get the same notification.

Any ideas, as of right now I just uninstalled it...

Try installing as the full administrator (log on as admin) - Turn off AV products and retry. Test PEP v1.x and see what happens. Download again to ensure that you do not have a corrupt version.

So does anyone have any idea why PEP1 would work with no problems on my HP Laptop running Windows Vista 64bit but PEP2 wont even get past the initializing loading screen?

Max,

If you search the forum you will find that the problem with PEP2 and Vista 64bit is well known but that there is also a solution to it (which, from memory, is to use a slightly different version of PEP2 which someone amended precisely for this purpose).

Thank you I managed to get it running properly, now next problem. If Windows is set to anything other than 96DPI the program doesn't run properly and information is cut off the top, bottom and sides.

I am viewing the program on an 18.4" laptop with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, 96DPI makes it pretty much unworkable.

Is there a work around for this yet?
