Hi all

What a great site this is! lots of useful information

I am new to this site so apologies if im asking a question again

I have searched many times to try and solve this problem but cannot find an answer

I have a Samsung AVR720 Amp for which i am trying to teach the 9600 the controls. It does find the IR code, but when this is used to try and control the amp nothing happens

I did get it to work only once, but the volume went up 14 notches

Can anyone help me solve this conundrum

Many thanks

Ross

You may need to adjust duration.

If you have got it on your Marantz, you can copy and paste the code into PEP for the 9600.

Thanks for your reply

I dont actually know how to get the code of my marantz

Do i need some software to do this as this was all done using the marantz control itself and no pc?

THe other thing i have discovered is the O1R database update on the philips website. i am using PEP 1.1 but when i try to "restore my database" as per the instructions i get an error saying that its failed

I have tried every samsung av amp in the factory database so far - it may be in the new one if i could only get it to update!!

THanks

Ross

Ok

So i have managed to get the 9600 to learn the code - sort of- for my samsung av amp

Trying different distances, lighting, surfaces etc

However, it does not repeat - ie if i press the volume button on pronto it changes the volume by one notch and when held does not move any more. also sometimes it moves 3 notches on the volume scale

Can anyone please help me with this? really starting to frustrate me

Does anyone have the codes for this they could send me?

Thanks

Import the your `rc5200 configuration into PEP and see if the code works. You need to go to "file", "import ccf" and select the ccf in question.

thanks for this don

I have thought about this method, but cant for the life of me find the box for the rc5200 which has the cable in.

the socket looks like a 3.5mm jack socket but not sure what goes at the other end

Anyone know which cable i need to buy and where from?

Thanks

Right

For anyone else who has had this problem with the pronto not learning from the original remote and its not listed in the factory database, i have found a solution that works, well atleast in my scenario.

When the pronto says "learning IR Code" i pressed the button on the original remote and held down for the duration. ie it got that initial blast and then the repeat sequence. When i tested the IR signal through the same command screen the volume did increase but then carried on increasing for another 10volume notches.

I initially thought this wasnt right and disgarded this code attempting individual presses which worked, but not repeat when the button was held down.

I went back to the initial code (the one that changed it 10times) and then edited the duration right down to 0.01 (not default) and hey presto a button that works and repeats.

I hope this helps anyone who has had a similar frustrating problem!

FYI, learning tips can also be found in the Classic Pronto FAQ.
