Just discovered an incompatibility between the Pronto (PEP v2.0.36.0, TSU 9400, FW 6.0.21) with Logitech's Z10 desktop speakers on Vista x84 Ultimate. After installing Logitech's speakers (LCD Manager version 1.0.4.153), it's impossible to download configuration to the Pronto, since PEP reports "error C5: HID not found".
Of course it took some time to find out that the speakers were causing this; also tried rebooting, changing usb ports to both the Pronto and the speakers, the thing remains that when the speakers are connected (regardless if they are powered on or not), PEP does not communicate with the Pronto.
Not sure whether this is caused by the Pronto or by the speakers, just thought to post this in case someone from the Pronto developing team checks this post out and wants to investigate further...

This problem is quite common and has been discussed in a number of other threads. For example, take a look at the discussion between Sylvain and myself at the bottom of the second page at [Link: remotecentral.com].

I don't really see how I can explain it better than I did in that thread:

"Yes, my bluetooth mouse and PEP2 conflict. I solved the problem by selectively disabling the various 'HID-compliant consumer control devices' using device manager. Eventually found one which, when disabled, got rid of the "HID device not found" message/problem whilst still allowing my mouse to work."

"These HID accessories seem to install multiple HID 'devices' and you often can't tell from looking at them in device manager which is which. For example, on my PC, I have 6 HID 'devices' even though I have a maximum of 3 HID 'accessories' (mouse, keyboard and Pronto). Disabling some of the 'devices' disabled some of the 'accessories' but disabling other 'devices' seemed to have no adverse effects. I just found the right ones to disable by trial and error."

Pulling out the keyboard and mouse does allow the download to work but it is hardly a satisfactory solution. Disabling the HID devices in the way that I suggested allows both the download to work and for you to keep your keyboard and mouse plugged in.
