I currently have the 9400 and am considering upgrading to the 9600. Have been a Pronto user for years and have used all prior models. Does anyone have any regrets going to the larger 9600 which sort of requires 2 handed use? I actually have found the 9400 much more difficult to use the the 7000 that I had previously, as the 7000 had a better layout for one handed use. What are the advantages of the 9600 over the 9400. I am currently not running any prontoscripts.
Thanks

gp56,

In my opinion, the most significant difference is the screen size. For some, one hand operation may be more important than screen size. I appreciate the larger screens.

From a programming standpoint the 9400 and 9600 are identical.

For tech shy customers I use the 9400 and relatively simple screens -- in many cases little more than "TV" with channel icons and "DVD" with only the very basic transport commands visible. The other commands are available via the next and previous screen, mostly for me if I'm on a house call and need quick access to a setup menu.

For more capable customers I use the 9600 and denser, more complicated screens. For users with limited vision or poorer coordination, I think that the 9600 is a better idea.

The 9600 has to win hands down, simply due to the larger screen estate - however, if you like operating your remote one handed, then dont move!

Personally, I have never regretted my 9600 purchase.
