Currently using a TSU9400 in our home theater and love it!! Need to purchase a much simpler remote for an alternative room that simply has a flat pannel tv, sat box and dvd. Need a remote that can run macros (read spousal friendly) as I will need to switch inputs on the tv for the different HDMI sources. Thought about the TSU 9200 as it would appear visually/physically to be in the same family as the remote downstairs, but I'm not hearing too much positive feedback about it. Does anyone have any other alternative suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The 9200 is not really in the same family as the 9400. It has a different programming interface.

I was in exactly the same situation as you, Ted. I bought a cheap Harmony (525, in my case) and it does the job perfectly.

I was in your situation and discovered Amazon had the TSU9200 for about $125. I went with that. I've been programing/owning Prontos since the first model.

Aside from a few quirks (see tips and fixes posted elsewhere), Ive no problem with the Configurator that differs from the usual Pronto Editor. There was a time in my life where I no longer wanted to work on my own cars, I sort of feel that way now about Pronto programing but admit Pronto Edit is more flexible for complex systems.

The only issues is whether a user likes the spin wheel approach to selecting favorites and additional functions. I think its fine.

Quirks and general strategy aside, I will say that at every turn I found the TSU9200 very professional and carefully thought out. I also found Conifurator broadly architected the same way I structured my other Pronto programming.

The only pending downside at this point is the unique Chinese rechargeable Lithium ion battery which the Philips parts supplier does not carry replacements for currently. They are in the process of rectifying this situation. I don't know how other non Philips remotes fair in the replacement battery arena.
