I'd be interested to hear what the "best chipset" is - and why it is supposed to be! Could shed some light on things.

Barry We finally found our problem with intermittent WiFi ! My customer had his own IT guy install a very thorough protection scheme so he could access the business from home and still be secure, along with wireless for the family and a subnet for the Pronto. He installed a Unified Threat Management firewall from SonicWall to help protect the wireless. What was happening was the arp cache had a limit of ten devices, and it was supposed to flush any unused ones after ten minutes. Instead, when it hit the limit, like when the kids would come home and fire up their wireless laptops and more, the firewall would start to get fussy. It would take a long time to settle down and flush out, even when the other devices dropped off. Setting the limit up to 25 devices cured the problem. Makes me wonder if there are other routers or firewall setups with similar limits that would cause problems. It was tough to find because it acted like a wireless reception problem. Error log would always show 404 and 450. Hope it saves some other peoples sanity ! Dan
