Greetings,

I received the RFX/TSU 9400 combo this morning. I have the RFX and TSU setup and running but I cannot get the TSU to communicate with the RFX over my network. I have the RFX wired directly to my WAP (Linksys) and have it configired for ethernet/DHCP.

That is all I set up on the RFX. I have the TSU set for the name of my wireless network and for wireless in network mode. The RFX is set to Network/1. The TSU just says connecting...

Any thoughts?
Regards,

Ralph

if the tsu 9400 just says connecting you missed something in your network setup. Double check your network settings in the system properties page. Make sure your ssid matches letter for letter. It is case sensitive. Also because it is linksys make sure encryption is not setup on your WAP.

Greetings,

The ssid matches. My WAP uses WPA encryption and a key. This how all my other wireless devices connect and it has never been a problem..

sigh...

Ralph

You can not use WPA. You will have to use WEP with Pronto stuff.

Also, please before starting a new thread on WPA support, please search for the ones here and contribute there. This topic has been discussed MANY times.

[Edit]
Darned computer industry and close acronyms. Edited above to say WPA vs WAP.

We have had similar problems and (some or all of) the points below have helped to solve them: -

• Give the Philips kit fixed IP addresses - certain implementations of DHCP seem to
confuse the Pronto

• Use 128 bit WEP

• Use a 13 character ascii passphrase converted to 26 character Hex encryption key
with no spaces or colons. (there are many apps. out there to convert an ascii
passphrase to hex)

• Reboot the Philips kit after changing the IP address to fixed

Apologies if any of the above is already obvious to you and therefore patronising!

Regarding the WPA discussion. No need to apologize. There was a HUGE discussion earlier on about WPA and the lack of support for it. No need for another thread. That's all.
