I have just tried to merge the Philips photoframe script into PEP1 but it tells me that it is the wrong version, i hope the pronto scripts dont become PEP sensitive?
Does any one else have this issue?

It is likely that that module was developed with PEPV2 and cannot be opened in PEPV1. If this is the case, you will need to open the file in PEPV2 and use the ProntoScript Modules in the gallery to accomplish what would be a merge. See the sticky threads at the top of this forum for more info on this.
For everyone's info, the actual Javascript is less likely to be version specific (4.0.17 provided support for dynamic images) whereas an XCF file is editor-version-specific.

You can copy/paste script between editors but that is primarily the only way as there is no back-port to PEPV1 from PEPV2.
