Now that I have my 9800 working more or less the way I want, I'd like to change the way it looks. I'm not that thrilled with the built in activity buttons, backgrounds, etc.
I'm wondering if anyone cares to suggest good graphics software that would allow me to create my own buttons and backgrounds. It's just a personal project/hobby for me so I don't want to spend a 1000 bucks on photoshop or something like that. In any case, I'm not even sure that photoshop is really the best program. It seems clearly focused on playing around with digitial photos which is not really what I had in mind.
Thanks for any ideas.

As these new remotes use PNG graphics, your question, posted in the NG forum would likely get a similar answer. Might want to search there for opinions as well.
Personally, I use Paintshop Pro 8 (no longer available). Daniel uses a vector program from Corel. Others in the past have used LView Pro, Gimp, or Image.net. Some are free, some are shareware but almost all of them have a learning curve. :)

Use your standard photo tool like photoshop... Coreldraw is also a good help. If you use your standard software tools you don´t loose time for learning new software. There is no special software needed; it is only a question how virtuosic you can handle your known software to create nice images.
