I'm suspecting that I have a bad control. I set everything up in the configurator, didn't have the same problems as mentioned in other posts with being able to add components though. My issue is when I try to "Download to Remote" I get this error:

There is an error with the configuration data.
No valid configuration can be generated.

This happens no matter what I do. I've tried just adding my plasma with 1 activity "Watch TV" that just turns it on and that's it and I still get this error. Also I tried to perform a firmware update to the remote and I see:

The TSU9200 Update Tool was unable to update your remote control.
Please try again or contact your service center.

Please help... please tell me I'm missing something and it's not a dead control.

Thanks.

Make sure that the battery is fully charged. If the battery charge is too low, you'll see that message.

Also, closing and restarting the configuration program may clear the message. Be sure that you save a copy of the program BEFORE clicking Done.

I have also had some bad experiences clicking Finish, rather than clicking on all of the Next buttons.

Okay, somehow I was able to get the firware updated. But I can't seem to get a configuration file on the control. Now when I go to download to control I get either the invalid configuration or I get a message stating it can't find the control.

Is it smooth sailing once you finally get all of this straightened out?? Oh and another thing, I searched and found that Canada has it's 'own' version of this control here and it's called the Prestigo SRU8015. Does anyone know anything about this control? Is it exactly the same, because if so I just paid way too much to get a Pronto in from the US.

Thanks.

8015 is not the same remote even though it looks like it,

there are some differances, on the 9200 the buttons are hard plastic and the finish on the remote is a silver rubberised finish, the 8015 has rubber puttons and just a silver paint finish, the 8015 is not programmable like the 9200 etc etc.

Have a look at my post on the other 'problems with 9200' post
[Link: remotecentral.com]

It may be the same problem as yours.

Ok, figured it out.

I have an iMac and Mac PowerBook in my house and a Windows PC for my media. Well I run Windows XP on my iMac as well through Parallels and I guess that although it's suppose to, OS X does not relinquish full rights of the USB ports to Windows. There are still some hangups although I've never found any before. So I hooked up a monitor to my media server, installed the software and viola. Got the firmware update and configuration on the control with no problems. Actually I did manage to get the firmware updated on my other setup, so it's really hit and miss with the USB ports in that setup.

Anyhow, all good now and I am also glad to hear the 8015 is not the same (I looked into it as well and found this out)

Thanks.

I get the same error about the configuration file, both on Windows XP and Vista... Everything works fine when I test the macros and functions while connected to the laptop, but then I cannot download the configuration file. Do I need to disable something on the PC to make this work properly? Any help is much appreciated.
