OK would any one be interested in:-

A mains current monitor that would send via RS232 the amount of power being used at any one time , it would need a script to run on the pronto...of course..

I would. Would it monitor the entire home or individual receptacles?

It would depend on where you fitted the sensor, if it was installed on the main incoming feed then it would be the whole house, If you had 3 phase coming into your home you would need 3 of them.
