Ok I downloaded and installed Pep V2 yesterday and looked it over. After doing the forum provided fix for Vista 64 bit everything worked fine. I even had a full database. However when I started to re-design my 9400 remote, both my database and the pronto database are empty. I've searched for the file on my computer and can't find it. Has this happened to anybody else? What do I need to do to restore the files? "Restore my database" under file didn't help.

If it appears empty then you possbly have not done the 64 bit fix properly. There are two executables that you need to fix.

I received this answer from ProntoTeam

Thank you for contacting the Prontoteam.

The most likely reason for this is because the pathname of the database contains international characters.

We have added the issue to our problems database and it will be resolved in a future update.

Meanwhile, please follow the steps below to workaround the problem:

1. Extract the attached zip file and run the batch file called: "Stop and restart Pronto Data Service.bat"
This will stop the database service and hold execution in order to be able to copy the service to another location.

2. When the service has stopped, copy the content of the directory: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Data aplikací\Philips\Common Database" to another location, one that does not have any international characters. (e.g. "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Philips\Common Database"

3. Now open the Windows Registry by pressing: Windows Key + R and type regedit + enter
Locate the following keys:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Pronto2\CommonDB and change the value "Database Path" to the new location of the database.
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ProntoDataService and change the value "ImagePath" to the new location of the database.

4. Switch back to the batch file and press enter to continue, this should restart the database service with the new location.

It is working but only one problem is You must obtain component database somewhere...

I have mailed the pronto team to get a copy of this .zip file.

Thank you,

Andy.
